United States National Guard Personnels

Veteran People Meet is your online military dating site!

We are an army dating service that is designed for ex-servicemen, retired military personnel, and veterans from all the branches of the United States Defense Forces.

The National Guard of the United States is part of the reserved forces of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. It is a unique branch of U.S. Military that’s controlled by both the State governments and the Federal government. Meaning, that it answers to both the State governors as well as the POTUS.

The U.S. National Guard is composed of reserve personnel from both the United States Army and the United States Air Force. That is, the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard respectively. Moreover, most National Guards are civilian soldiers employed full-time in the private sector while serving part-time as a National Guard member.

We understand the hectic nature of job that a national guard member has to fulfil. We also consider the frequent changes in your lifestyle as you switch between civilian and military life from time to time. Keeping that in mind, Veteran People Meet can help you find the most suitable military singles connection from our large database of military personnel.

At present, there are about 450,000 National Guard members serving in 54 separate organizations across all fifty states, Washington DC, and the three U.S. territories: Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Despite being allowed to serve in the same state they live in, all National Guards have to go through intense training every month for a weekend plus commit to a few weeks of service every year.

Given the travelling involved during the tenure of your service, we leave no stones unturned in order to get you the best military dating experience.

The formation of the National Guard can be traced back to as early as 1636 when Massachusetts established the first colonial militia units. That was its juvenile period though. The transformation of these militia units into a well-trained and equipped force that it is today was rather a long process that spanned through 4 centuries of various reforms in the law.

It was 1903 when a new militia act, the Dick Act laid the foundation for modern day National Guard which was later given the official name of U.S. National Guard in 1916 in accord with the National Defense Act.

The National Guard is an integral part of U.S. Armed Forces, uniquely empowered to perform a variety of tasks and operations, both domestic (state-level and federal) and international. Their services and responsibilities include:

  1. Disaster relief from natural disasters and pandemics, such as hurricanes, wildfires, storms, floods and viral outbreaks, etc. in both state-level and nation-wide.

  2. Law enforcement to control and restore order during protests, riots, and other activities of civil unrest.

  3. Election support from administration to cybersecurity, as well as other election-related duties as required by the state and local government bodies.

  4. Military support in overseas opérations and international conflicts. About 30,000 National Guard members are deployed around the world on any given day with their number reaching as much as 1 million in desperate situations such as 9/11 or the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and so on.

The United States National Guard Personnel have proven their worth time and time again with their bravery and heroic efforts. Their contribution to dealing with a variety of conflicts and crisis is quite evident in the year 2020 itself, the period of some of the major upheavals of recent times.

An unprecedented number of National Guards were deployed to respond to natural disasters, Covid-19 pandemic, and the historic anti-racism protests that have been the main topics of discussion in 2020. And while the world was struggling to cope-up with the global coronavirus pandemic, the National Guard was called upon to control and restore order when a mob in support of the then POTUS Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol in early 2021 post U.S. election results.

A significant number of guards were called upon again to secure President Joe Biden’s inauguration later. Although it’s just a brief account of their service in recent past, the U.S. National Guard have shown their iron uncountable times before, proving that they’re no less worthy than the full-time cadre of US Armed Forces.
