United States Coast Guard Personnels

Serving the three massive departments of the United Armed forces that are coastal defense, search and rescue, and maritime law enforcement, the branch of United States Coast Guard is maritime, military, and multi-mission service. The jurisdiction of this branch lies in both domestic and foreign waters in defending the country from the rival attacks.

Involved in every major U.S. war since 1790, the role of the United States Coast Guard is indispensable. From the time of the Quasi-War with France to the Global War on Terrorism, the Coast Guard is actively contributing its part in protecting the rights of the United States of America. Though, it is the second smallest branch of the United States armed forces but stands at the 12th largest naval force of the world.

The role of a coast guard is undeniably vital in the lives of the Americans. Whenever there is a hurricane, a natural calamity, a situation of war, coast guards are at the forefront putting their lives on the line. Every coast guard has three roles to cover:

  • Maritime safety
  • Maritime security
  • Maritime stewardship

Out of all the branches of the United States Armed Forces, the mission of the Coast Guard has a long list of duties to carry out, which include non-homeland and homeland security missions. Their mission is to:

  • Ice operations, including the International Ice Patrol

  • Living marine resources (fisheries law enforcement)
